Dr. Jake Brock, Pastor
Dr. Jake Brock has been the Pastor of Swiss Colony Missionary Baptist Church since Sunday, March 1, 2015. He has served in pastoral ministry for nearly two decades, having served churches previously as an interim pastor, associate pastor, minister of education and discipleship, and minister of youth. He has also served in associational ministry as the director of missions intern, moderator (presiding officer of the association), assistant moderator, executive board member, and assistant treasurer for the Laurel River Baptist Association of churches in southeastern Kentucky.
Jake is a graduate of the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky, where he earned the Bachelor of Arts, Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Christian Studies, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Business degrees. He is currently a student in the Ph.D. in Theological Studies (Historical Theology emphasis) program at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. He also completed additional graduate-level study at Liberty University and the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. In addition, he is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Jake is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society, the American Society of Church History, and the Theta Alpha Kappa National Honor Society for Religious Studies and Theology. He is also a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and a Kentucky Commonwealth Ambassador. In addition to his service as pastor of Swiss Colony, Jake serves as a tenured associate professor of accounting at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Jake enjoys reading, writing, fishing, cooking, walking, target shooting, hiking, and coffee.
